From September to June/July next year is the horse racing season in Hong Kong, with races held at Happy Valley on Wednesday nights and at Sha Tin Racecourse on weekend afternoons. Happy Valley Racecourse, also known as "The Valley," has been in operation since 1846 and is one of the few racecourses in the world located in the city centre. Racecourses offer public stands and members' seats, and visitors must be over 18 years old to enter. Public stand tickets cost HK$10. For a better view of the races, you can purchase a visitor's badge with a valid travel document or passport to access the members' seats, including the MB2 Member Betting Hall, the Paper Badge Betting Hall, and the trackside. There is no dress code for the public stands, but vests, shorts, and flip-flops are not allowed in the members' seats.
