Exploring the Blend of Old and New in Akasaka
Famous Teppanyaki Steakhouse Opens in Akasaka
The well-known teppanyaki steakhouse「 銀座のステーキ」, with branches in Ginza, Shibuya, and Ebisu, opened a new location in Akasaka last December, 2023. Situated on the 2nd floor of the Granbell Hotel Akasaka, it’s easily accessible—just a two-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi or Ginza Lines, or a five-minute walk from Akasaka Station on the Chiyoda Line. The restaurant features two private dining rooms and 22 counter seats. It opens at 11:30 a.m., with a lunch-exclusive Black Wagyu Beef Steak Set priced at ¥4,180 (tax and service charge not included). For those looking for a more indulgent experience, the A5 Black Wagyu Lunch Set, which includes 3 to 4 cuts of beef and a drink buffet, costs ¥7,480.
Indulge in an All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu Experience
For those with a big appetite, the restaurant’s most popular choice is the A5 Black Wagyu Steak Set, which offers an all-you-can-eat teppanyaki experience for ¥11,880 per person. The set begins with appetizers like A5 roasted Wagyu beef, grilled squid, and a warm broad bean soup, followed by red snapper simmered in seafood broth, and beef brisket with seasonal vegetables—all cooked right in front of the diners.
The main event is the unlimited A5 Black Wagyu, featuring four cuts of beef from rare parts like the” Monk’s Head” (upper rear leg) and Monk’s Head Core, known for its fine texture, and the flavorful rump. Onions are served on the side and can be refilled as desired. After tasting all four cuts, guests can continue ordering to their heart's content. The meal concludes with garlic rice, red miso soup, and dessert. For a more luxurious option, the restaurant also offers a Kobe Beef and Wagyu Marbled Set, which includes abalone and is priced at ¥27,500 per person.
