Hong Kong Disneyland Unveils the World's First Frozen-Themed Area
Hong Kong Disneyland beautifully recreates scenes from the movie
The "World of Frozen" features three attractions, including the world's first Frozen roller coaster, " Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs," the log flume ride " Frozen Ever After," and an interactive experience called " Playhouse in the Woods," where you can meet the characters. Since the area has just opened, many fans flock to experience Frozen, with wait times for the roller coaster reaching up to two hours. To get a head start, you can purchase an "Early Park Entry Pass”, allowing you to enter one hour before regular opening hours. This way, you can head straight to Arendelle, enjoy the roller coaster and log flume, and save time waiting in line!
The journey from the announcement of this new area to its completion spanned eight years. Stepping into the park feels like entering a Nordic village, with beloved locations from the film—like the Friendship Fountain, Arendelle Town, North Mountain, and Arendelle Clock Tower—meticulously brought to life. Characters often mingle with guests, and lively performances by local villagers create an enchanting atmosphere full of surprises.
Three major "Frozen" themed attractions
Don’t underestimate " Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs", the sled-shaped roller coaster designed for kids—it delivers an exhilarating ride with high-speed twists and turns through caves. Riding in the morning offers breathtaking views of the town from above, accompanied by screams of delight! However, each ride lasts only about 50 seconds, so if you're eager to try multiple attractions, be prepared for potentially long waiting times. Another thrilling experience is "Frozen Ever After" While it shares similarities with typical log flume rides, guests glide along a winding river in boats, marvelling at Elsa's magnificent ice palace. The river features exciting drops and even a backward section, ensuring it’s far from an ordinary adventure!
As for "Playhouse in the Woods”, guests can obtain a free Disney reservation card online using their park tickets or membership cards to secure their entry time. Alternatively, they can purchase an entrance pass for HKD 129 before arriving at the park. This interactive theatrical experience is conducted in small groups, allowing guests to watch Elsa and Anna perform and interact up close. The characters often invite children to join them in casting spells, creating unforgettable memories for young fans. However, since there are no reserved seats for the performance, front-row spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. Those standing at the back may have their view obstructed by guests in front, so it’s advisable to arrive early for the best positioning.
A Spectacular Light and Fireworks Show Celebrating Disney Classics
Hong Kong Disneyland has been delighting guests for nearly 20 years, continually expanding its attractions. The fireworks show "Momentous" was redesigned and relaunched in 2022. This spectacular display fully utilizes the newly renovated castle, showcasing multimedia light effects combined with water jets and fireworks. For approximately 20 minutes, the show narrates nearly 40 classic Disney stories and features around 150 beloved Disney and Pixar characters. While the fireworks may not be as abundant as in previous years, it undoubtedly evokes nostalgic memories for Disney fans.
