【Popular Dim Sum】Caterking Dim Sum Workshop(豪隍點心工房) offering great value for money
When it comes to dim sum, one cannot overlook the increasingly popular " Caterking Dim Sum Workshop " in recent years. This hidden gem in the Kwun Tong industrial area has not only opened its second branch in the same district within a few short years but has also expanded to Hong Kong Island's Taikoo City this year for the first time. The enduring popularity of Caterking Dim Sum Workshop, located above a Kwun Tong factory, has led to consistently full tables and long queues downstairs. The connection can be attributed to the owner and head chef, Master Chung Yau-yu, who excels in dim sum making and has previously worked in many renowned restaurants, hotels, and clubs across Hong Kong.
Caterking Dim Sum Workshop 's main branch in Kwun Tong offers over a hundred varieties of dim sum, snacks, and noodles. All the food is prepared in their Hong Kong factory, focusing on made-to-order traditional Chinese dim sum, with daily deliveries ensuring consistent quality across all branches! Known for their fresh and generous portions, items like the har gows and siu mai boast thin skins and flavorful fillings, with sizes larger than those commonly found in the market. Their pan-fried dishes are exceptional, not greasy, such as the garlic cheese fresh shrimp spring rolls(“蒜香芝士鮮蝦長春卷”) and Shrimp-Stuffed Beancurd Roll(鮮蝦腐皮卷) . With great value for dim sum and no additional service charge, it's no wonder that it has remained highly popular over the years, attracting a steady stream of customers.

For tourists seeking to experience the flavors of old Hong Kong, Old Fung Tea House is undoubtedly the perfect choice. Its dim sum is centered around nostalgia, with each dish prepared following traditional methods, allowing diners to relive the tastes of the past. The store's decor is themed around the nostalgia of the 1960s and 1970s, featuring elements like public housing estates and street food stalls, creating a sense of time reversal that stirs up diners' memories.
Originating from Yuen Long and now with branches in Tsuen Wan and Tai Po, Old Fung Tea House was founded by the father-son duo of Fung Yiu-wing and Fung Man-kit. 【Memory Lane】London Restaurant(“倫敦大酒樓”) sells dim sum from pushcarts
Located in Mong Kok for over half a century, London Restaurant stands as one of the few remaining traditional tea houses in Hong Kong that still offers dim sum service via pushcarts. Situated on the 3rd and 4th floors of a building, most diners heading to the 3rd floor may need to share tables (join others), a practice known as "punting." For those preferring a more comfortable dining experience without sharing a table with strangers, the 4th floor is the preferred choice.
However, the true heart of the restaurant lies on the 3rd floor, where it is often packed with diners, bustling with activity. Here, you'll find "ah jehs" (ladies) pushing nostalgic dim sum carts around, loudly calling out the names of the dim sum dishes. Additionally, there are on-the-spot services for freshly pan-fried turnip cakes and rice noodle rolls. Moreover, within the restaurant, there is a food section offering a wide array of dim sum options ranging from pan-fried, deep-fried, stir-fried, steamed, baked, to stewed dishes, providing a plethora of choices for diners. The food section is frequently crowded, with the incredibly popular coconut egg white pudding with bird's nest being the restaurant's signature dish. As soon as it is served, diners rush to queue up to purchase it. Due to its high demand, each person is limited to purchasing only 2 servings
